HIDDEN GEM OF A SUSHI CHEF! Its so hard to find really good, affordable sushi, and especially so in kalamazoo. Ive resorted to going to the supermarket. I used to go to meijer, but one day their stock was empty, so i went to the D&W down the street, hoping they had some of the prepackaged like meijer. Imagine my surprise when im sitting there trying to decide what to get because i didnt see my favorite, and someone pops up from behind the cooler and asks me what i want made! The chefs come in first thing in the morning to start getting things ready, and the cooler full. And its SOO TASTY! I had a spicy crunch roll, which thry called a french roll. Large pieces stuffed with cucumber, crab, avocado, and topped with shredded crab, spicy sauce, sushi sauce, and a generous helping of crispy fried onions. Better than the typical breading crumbs. But they will make anything you want and still keep the cooler stocked full of fresh gzoya, california rolls, tuna, salmon, and several types of sashimi and rolls. Better than any buffet, or restraunt ive been to in a long time. Not since i lived in FL, and found a Publix with the same type of sushi bar hidden inside. You have GOT to try it! Guarantee you wont have better at the price, which is typical of your everyday sushi bar prices. Store was very clean, well laid out, and had fair prices on other things, too!

I ordered a birthday cake from the bakery. It was delicious. So moist & whipped icing great. The price was very reasonable also. The cake was done exactly how I ordered it.

The fresh cut fruit is hardly full any more. That store isn't what it used to be. Needs updating, seriously. Upper Management takes no responsibility for the direction the store is heading. Low moral, yes.. and that's because attitude reflects leadership. There are not enough employees across several departments to get the work done that is needed. Store is suffering. But yet corporate won't lay eyes on the problem, and it's apparent as to what & who it is. The produce dept is not what it used to be. At one time this store was top in the company, not that way anymore.

The workers are nice and the people that work at the deli are super knowledgeable. They have the best meat and seafood! I cannot stress that enough!

Love the little store. Always can find what I need and the quality is always good. Staff are always friendly. Great cheese selection, the meat is good, and the produce is always fresh.

This store has an excellent produce section, a great meat and seafood counter and a wide selection of wines, cheeses, snacks, breads (including daily fresh offerings from the local Sarkozy's Bakery) and other products. I shop here often and am never disappointed.

The selection and prices are great in the meat department at the Parkview/Kalamazoo location. The store is always clean and organized. Nikki in the meat department is always super helpful when picking out new cuts of meat. She is super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I always look forward to seeing her when shopping. 😊 …

They know their market pretty well for where they are. It always stresses me out for them for how many manager specials they have in their meat department I feel like that means you stop carrying it. I love their prepared food such as their Amish chicken and their fried Chicken for a spectacular price. And I like the fact that they have fresh made sushi there. It's a really cool store and they have a surprisingly wonderful selection.
